The girl in this photograph captures my attention immediately. I love the look on her face for the curiosity, familiarity, and mystery. I find myself wondering who or what has her attention. The flower in her right hand brings a bit of innocence to the piece that amplifies the mysterious nature of what we do not see beyond the edge of the photograph. My only critique is the composition of the photograph, but here, it is used well, highlighting her. The ring on her hand, however, is distracting. I would suggest using a less noticable piece of jewelry. The color is fine, but the size takes away from the details of her delicate fingers resting on her arm.
The photograph is very beautifully done. The subject is captured perfectly in the center of the image, with just enough attention drawn to the flowers to make them an important part of the collaboration. The attire chosen for the image accentuates the mood by giving the girl an almost fairy-like look, or perhaps the look of some shy pagan goddess, her eyes looking on wistfully to the beau outside of our field of vision. Is she foolish enough to have fallen for some mortal? Or is she mortal herself with a heart as foolish as any who looks only at the outward beauty of another? The audience is able to make of it their own interpretations. The makeup here is just enough to put some mystery behind her eyes while still being subtle enough to let the girl's natural beauty shine through. Lighting here is very bright and exposes the color and smoothness of her young delicate skin quite well. It certainly helps draw everything together. I don't see where improvement could be made because the picture is beautiful as it stands. I only wonder what it might look like if the contrast was adjusted a little to make the colors just a little bolder. Like I said, a beautiful picture though, and not a necessity for improvement.
